The Lydd half marathon was held on Sunday 10th march, 2024 It is a long established and highly coveted event which takes place on a pancake flat course using the wide country lanes surrounding Lydd. As with previous years the members of the Rotary Club of Romney Marsh supported the event by organising the car parking arrangements on The Rype. Apparently the conditions for running the race were good (cool, showery and windy) but not ideal for directing cars! The photo shows the intrepid marshals for the day – all of whom were more than happy, once the last of the cars was safely parked, to go home rather than run the race!
